Jewelry Care

With proper wear and care, your Ninth House Collection pieces can adorn you for years to come.

Wear with Care

Silver, brass, copper, and gold are soft metals. Signs of wear are inevitable over time. Natural stones, like turquoise, are also soft and can be damaged if not properly cared for. To protect your jewelry against scratches, dents, and cracks, remove before vigorous activities that can cause damage and when sleeping.

Avoid Moisture

Avoid contact with moisture as much as possible and remove your jewelry when washing hands, showering, swimming, applying skincare and makeup, using chemicals, etc. Moisture can cause metal to tarnish quicker and some stones are porous and absorb liquid which can change their appearance over time. It is normal for natural, soft stones, like turquoise, to change colors over time through exposure to the environment and even the oils in our skin. In a way, it becomes an extension of you!

Storage

Store in a clean, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Cleaning

Avoid harsh chemicals and jewelry cleaners. These can strip away patinas and damage stones. All metals tarnish over time and the safest way to keep your jewelry shining on is with a jewelry polishing cloth - I recommend yellow Sunshine Polishing Cloths. Microfiber, or other soft non-abrasive cloths, can also be used.
